Introduction For Doctors

 

Thank you for considering American Cosmetic Surgery Network(ACSN) as another tool to direct patients to your practice.  ACSN is different in that we keep our physician panel confidential.  The only time anyone will see your name is when they are referred for an appointment.  Our approach is simple. We want to work with quality doctors who embrace our concept-- that is to offer prospective patients a way to feel more confident about the surgeon they are considering for their cosmetic surgery and to make the patient feel like they are getting a fair fee.  There is no fee that doctors pay to join ACSN.  Doctors simply agree to charge ACSN members reduced physicians fees (fee schedule).

 While ACSN cannot guarantee the outcome of any surgery, we are able to guarantee that the chances of success are greater when the patient is informed and educated.  Most ACSN members will have a better understanding of what they are getting into and what they need to do in order to have a successful operation.  This will save you valuable time and resources by reducing the number of consultations that opt not to have surgery.  Please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) for physicians listed below to learn more about ACSN and to answer any other questions you may have. Is there a fee to participate in ACSN?
Unlike other referral companies ACSN has no fees or charges associated with participation. Some programs, as you are aware, charge anywhere from $1,000 to $30,000 to be listed with no guarantee of ever seeing a patient. If ACSN does not deliver patients, at the very least you have not paid anything to be a part of the program.
 
Other than more referrals what are the benefits to joining?
In addition to directing prospective patients who are more likely to proceed with surgery, the ACSN patients coming to you have peace-of–mind that a third party has verified your credentials. Additionally, ACSN members are given a wealth of information which means you will be seeing an educated patient base.
 
Will my name be used in marketing this program or be visible in any provider panels?
No- your name will not appear anywhere on our site or any other medium. Only the ACSN member who is being referred to you office will have your name and contact information. ACSN respects your right to privacy!
 
What are the credentialing criteria?
If you currently participate with managed care companies you may be familiar with the type of credentialing we conduct. We ask that you complete an Application for Participation, so that we may gather additional information about you and your practice. The primary source verification takes place through the ACSN credentialing application which looks at education, licensure, board certification, practice specialties, Medicaid /Medicare sanctions, and DEA registration. We also query the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB). The process is very simple and will not take up much of your valuable time.
 
Do you divulge the details of your credentialing?
No- all information found during the credentialing process is confidential and will not be shared with members or third party organizations.
 
Do I have to offer a discount?
ACSN had two fee schedules to choose from. The value of our program to members is that they receive a discount off physicians Usual & Customary (U&C) fees. The value to the provider is that we provide patients. In exchange for reducing your fees you are given patients that you would normally have to solicit through advertising…which is expensive. NOTE: THIS DISCOUNT APPLIES TO PHYSICIANS FEES ONLY! NO DISCOUNT IS REQUIRED FOR HOSPITAL ROOM, GOODS & SERVICES, OR ANY OTHER EXPENSES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OR PATIENT CARE.
 
How will I know when an ACSN patient comes to my office and is entitled to the discount?
The patient will have a member card which will identify them as an ACSN member. We will also have a toll free line which you can access to verify membership.
 
How will this program be marketed?
This program will be marketed through virtually every medium (television, radio, newspapers, associations, health plans, internet, etc.). Our job is to create new patients for your practice!
 
If I decide to join, what are my major obligations?
Complete an Application for Participation with all requested materials. Extend ACSN members reduced pricing off physicians fees. Agree to not arbitrarily raise fees for ACSN patients to offset discount. Agree to treat ACSN patients as any other non-ACSN patient with regard to scheduling, rendering of services, and other patient activities and without regard to race, color, sex, religion, age, national origin or sexual orientation
 
How long will it take to notify me that I am part of the panel?
We can notify you within several days to a week, once we have received your completed Application for Participation and credentials form.
 
Do I have to “authorize” the procedure with ACSN or file a claim for reimbursement?
No- ACSN does not require physicians to pre-authorize treatment. Additionally, since this is not insurance there are no claim forms to file. You receive full payment directly from the ACSN member.
 
Can the ACSN site link to my site?
Yes - simply provide us with your website domain.

 

The American Cosmetic Surgery Network (ACSN) is a Discount Preferred Provider Network (DPPN) NOT INSURANCE.
DPPN's are a low cost alternative to insurance plans.
